Introduction to Greek Paleography
Instructor: Dr Georgi Parpulov
This unique online course will introduce students to the practice of reading Greek manuscripts - an important skill for biblical scholars, classicists, historians, and theologians, particularly in an era when so many medieval and early modern manuscripts are digitized online. The course is taught by Dr Georgi Parpulov, a respected codicologist, paleographer, and art historian known especially for his past leadership of the Lincoln College Summer School in Greek Paleography. Proficiency in Classical Greek is required to enroll.
Mondays 1:00 - 3:40 PM
Reading Patristic Greek
Instructor: Dr Tikhon Pino
This course is designed to give students additional practice in reading and translating patristic texts. Readings will consist of relatively simple prose texts in the paraenetic tradition of exhortatory preaching and spiritual edification. Proficiency in Koine Greek is required to enroll.
Wednesdays 7:30 - 8:50 PM
A dedicated webpage for these courses can be found here. Be sure to share this news with students, friends, fellow scholars, and clergy who may be interested.
